I’d been using the pens at work and hoping for an opportunity to share the gospel using one. I hadn’t planned on sharing that morning but God prompted me to ask a co-worker to tell me about when she became a Christian. She said she’d been baptized as a young girl and did not share that she’d ever received Christ and so I began to share what becoming a Christian was. I grabbed the pen off the counter and began. I hadn’t practiced using this before. “God is our Holy Creator” – got it! Easy enough to talk about that. “You are a sinner!” – OK. talked about that. “Jesus is your only hope” – shared that our Jesus, out of all the religions out there, is the only ONE who LIVES!! And we cannot transform ourselves or it will feel like homework (to borrow the phrase from my friend, Poncho). That on is HUGE! How do you know if He is doing the transforming? Because it feels more effortless! Being in His Word and in prayer facilitates this! “Repent and trust in Jesus!” Such a hard but necessary part of the gospel. There must be admission of sin and repentance of it. Love how this pen reminded me to stress that point. That part hasn’t flowed freely before!
